Right Cut Slider causes HANG

Got Sony DVD burner DRX-810-UL/T with Nero 6.6 OEM. Total newbie to this software and only limited experience with Windows Movie Maker.

In the Edit Movie mode (after a WMM avi file converted to mpeg2).

After choosing CUT and getting the right and left "scissor" cut sliders below the preview pane, the left slider worked just fine but when I clicked on the Right "scissor" slider, the program would permanently hang and my only recourse was to End the Program and start over. My work-around was to split the clip twice and delete what I wanted to cut.

What's the difference between Cut and Delete anyway? Does CUT go to the Clipboard for later "Pasting"?

I have a lot of questions about the whole Nero package but will save them for later posts.
