Note the status, total and remaining time! What gives? This is the first time I use Verbatim media on my 716A. It never went past burning at 7.5x and most of the time it was burning @ 3.9x. It took a total of 14:20 to burn the movie ISO. I have the latest firmware of the 716A and the latest version of Nero, so I don't know what could be wrong. Also, DMA is enabled and I have my 2 hard drives on IDE 0 and my 2 optical drives on IDE 1 (my DVD reader is the AOPEN 1648 AAP Pro, the 716A is the Master). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks! :)
Did you deliberately choose 16x, and are these 8x rated media? Because although the 716A will burn a disk at higher than the media rated speed, it will not do it for all disks. My 716A will burn my TY disks at double but will not burn my Digital Movie Reel Verbatim at higher than 4x which is what they are rated. You would be better to keep your Plex at no higher than 8X.
Yes, the Verbatim media that I purchased is rated @ 16x. Creaky, Why should I be having problems using 16x media on a 16x burner? School me please, I'm pretty new to this, thanks!
@Prey521 - my pleasure, here's a link that in turn links off to two other links, at least one of which should be easy to spot those who have good intentions/ideas towards ppl new to burning, and those that are just trying to prove a point. Happy reading and Happy New Year -
let's just say that 8x movie burning is possible provided all things are up to date, ie top notch blank discs, PC up to spec/settings all up to date etc. I myself stick to 4x most of the time, and recommend 4x to most ppl who have burning woes. it's then up to those ppl to crank it up to 8x when they're more confident/if they're able. i'm one of many ppl here who just woek/advise to get ppl up and burning again, some ppl burn movies at speeds such as 16x just to prove a point, and that's most definitely not good advice for ppl in general, just for that minority.
One of my fave subjects is media quality, again, a lot of us provide good/sensible advice that doesn't cost ppl money. Decent media doesn't cost more than crap quality media, but there's a minority of ppl out there (isn't there always!) who will staunchly defend proven crap quality discs. Again those opinions may prove fine for a minority but it's just not proven for the majority, exactly the opposite is always proven.
