Do you guys know if it is bad to run 2 programs in the same system? I read somewhere that you should have just one program running at a time. I installed Avast and Antivir and they both are catching viruses from P2P services. I just installed Zone Alarm fire wall (freebie). Please advise if I am doing the right thing.
Thank you.

Yes, only one antivirus active. Two or more may cause problems in eg. real-time protection.

yep what i think you should do is this, only keep the anti virus that you prefere running, you can use the other one to just scan but dont use to for real time protection as they interfear a bit, click start>run>msconfig, click the start up tab and remove one of them from start up.

Hello Guys,
Your comments/advises are great!
I will disable one of the 2. I currently have Avast and Antivir and loved AVG when I had it. Any suggestions for the one I should keep?
I am sorry to be a little pain.

Here is a good link recommended by Microsoft Support for an online virus and spyware scan:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
Keep it as a link and run it every so often if you feel the need.

Hello rav009,
I tried StartUp to disable Avast and after rebooting, I got a message to go back to msconfig and undo my changes. Should I uninstall Avast?
