Have recently reinstalled XP system and Nero 6. Upon installation compatibility woth XP message comes up and directed to Nero site to download upgrades. DL upgrade 1 & 2 (but not 3 & 4) but Nero won't burn.
I have tried reinstallation of Nero but no success. Anybody any ideas how to solve? Nero FAQ's not helpful.

as per my buddy Rotary....let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar.
You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

Hi Rotary / Vreaky
Things have moved on since this morning.
My DVD burner records fine (DVD and CD format) but my CD-RW (Samsung) only records audio and not data. this is confusing the life out of me.
Do you want to see the error log file still?
Any help appreciated

Thanks - the problem is with my Samsung SW 252-F. The Pioneer DVD is working fine (or appears to be). I don't know if the log file shows that?
Can you post a similar link? Many thanks for assistance to date.

Sorry it has taken so long to respond - my Samsung CD-RW is the problem. I have updated firmware from the Samsung site and now can't record a thing.

Yeah - I was only testing.
Never had a problem with discs or 52x write before. Just a problem that occurred on reinstallation.
Discs burn fine on DVD writer and at 32x.
Do you think the CD-RW has had it?

Samsung has possibly had it, but i'd still keep to more sensible speeds :)

I will probably reinstall drivers to see if anything happens (and look to my burn speeds as well).
Thanks for your help and advice.
Back to work tomorrow (London) so if you reply I may not get back to you that fast.
