Hi,

I'm new to this so I apologize if this is covered somewhere (which I'm sure it is but could not find it). I have been reading and this is what I have:

PSP Version 1.52
PC Computer running Windows XP Professional

Movie converted (ripped) with Xilisoft DVD Ripper Platimum to PSP format.
Ripped file converted to MV4XXXXX.mp4
File placed on PSP Memory Stick DUO (1GB) in directory:
MP_ROOT\100MNV01

Problem: PSP does not find any videos on the stick.

Note: The MP3 files placed in PSP\MUSIC play without issue.

Please help --- thanks BOBO-9 --- Happy New Year!

when you converted the file it should have come out with .thm file aswell as the MP4, if you converted to a folder on your P.C. and then copied across to your PSP, look in the folder, if it went straight to the PSP, then you will probably have to re-convert the file

does the .THM file need to be copied on to the PSP along with the MP4 file?

By the way I also can not see any JPEG files in the Photos directory?

yes, the THM file is the Thumbnail that you select from the Video Menu, without it you cannot select the video to play

check to see if the photo folder is called 'PHOTO' and not 'PHOTOS' or whatever

Thank you. I will try to re-encode the files and then re-copy them to the directory.

I'm still having problems. I assume that I have to rename both files - the MP4 and the THM file to MV4XXXXX etc.?

You don't need the .thm, it's just a thumbnail file that shows the first screen of the video (or whatever else you selected). For psp vid 9, just use the copy option inside of the program, it will correctly move the .mp4 and the .thm to where they need to be without any file editing.

The MNV one is where your converted psp video 9 things should go. The other one is for things d/l from the psp browser.
