i just ordered one of these from the internet
And I got it with version 2.50 jp
Is there any way for me to play US UMD Movies and US Musc from the memory stick?

Is there anything i can do with this type of version besides the norm?

I just thought of an idea, could I just upgrade my 2.50jap to 2.6 american?

I believe it is known as "region-free"....means the psp you buy in japan is the same as here in the US...

"Region Free" refers only to games, the umd's are coded by region so as far as I know the Japanese model only plays region 2 umds but I'm still waiting on a response if the region is bypassed by playing it off a memory stick.

Also for Souperfro, the Japanese model also has a screen made by Sharp which is a lot better quality than the American one made by Samsung.
