Burnout 2 copy protection?

My game just froze (I was in 1st for once too), never had a PS2 game freeze.

Is it copy protection or because I burnt off a scratched old disc, or is it a media/burn issue?

No protection whatsoever. Sounds more like a media and burning issues to me. Number 1 rule of thumb is to always use high quality media such as Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim "advanced azo" and Maxell (mij by Hitachi), and burn at 4X.

I've got Prodisc F01 but I'm on a crappy emachines at home, so I dunno about the burner...
