I am going to sell my xbox and about a week later buy a xbox 360. How can I transfer my xbox live account from my old xbox to my xbox 360?

all you have to do is is select recover xbox live account from the live menu on tour 360.

ok im going to get a 360 really soon and i think you might have already ansered my question but its it really that simple? So when i get my 360 i put in halo 2 then try to sign into xbox live and it will ask me to recover? and another thing says i have a 2 month trial and i put it in today and tomorrow i get a 360 will that subscription carry over? Im a big halo 2 fan i love halo and i was worried about my account and also wanting to start a new account to play noobs.

does anyone know what the difference bewteen xbox live silver and xbox live gold? also whats with the points?

silver - can't play online, just leadboards, friends, and marketplace.
gold - play online, leaderboards, friends, marketplace.
the points - works as money to buy exclusive content for games or XBLA games. or themes or gamer pictures.

Silver is free = No online games
You can download xbox360 demo's, HD Movie trailers, HD Game trailers, Themes etc. from xbox live market place.
Gold will give you online play

but most of the stuff on marketplace costs ms points, unless it's a free demo or trailer.

When you transfer your xbox live account from your old xbox to your new xbox 360, can you still play xbox live on your old xbox? (I have decided that I am going to keep my old xbox for mods)

i'm not sure, i don't have mine anymore. and i doubt you'd want one off Ebay. they'd probably be a scam and invalid. just goto target or walmart or whatever and spend the 50 bucks for 13months.

this is what me and my friends do to get free codes go to walmart buy the code go to your car write it down and take it right back in like a day or and hour later and say im sorry i didnt know it required a credit card and then you get your money back and a free 2 or 12 month code or simply go to blockbuster and start searching through boxes

and what about the guy that buy's it and tries to use it and it's not honored, and then he's out the $50 bucks? besides the 360 cards arae in that plastic wrapper thing and most places won't take them back if it's opened, and especially not if u scratched off the silver scratch here for numbers part.
