i have very bad media Ritek R03 02 that does horible coasters at high speeds but does great burns at very low speeds with DVD decrypter (not sure about that now...). how do i set up nero to only burn at 4x like DVD decrypter? when i put the media in it always goes to 8x or 6x in nero which is too high for this media. any ideas? or is there any other program that burns data at any speed you choose?

your burner's firmware probably needs updating. i see from your sig you have a Sony DW-Q28A, here's the link for the firmware - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2097

KYS3 is the latest version for this burner..
