I can't select burning speeds in Nero

Hope someone can help with this ..

Basically my problem is that when using Nero 6 or Nero 7 i only get the burning speed options of 12/16/24x when burning discs although my burner supports 2 - 52x .. i also have vso divx-dvd installed and recently had roxio easy dvd creator, both of these programs give me the option of selecting the burning speeds that my burner supports, i also upgraded the firmware for the burner via the manufacturer on 4/1/06 and have the latest. can someone please tell me how or why the Nero program just refuses to allow burning speeds other than 12/16/24 . . is there something i need to activate or some special key i need to press ... Becoming very frustrated and any help would be appreciated .. u can email me at removed

sounds like a firmware issue..

if you want to post a Nero 6 log entry, let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar.

You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

if you want to post a Nero 7 log entry, let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\NeroHistory but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '5C80' or similar.

- sufficient total memory but not much free memory. you need to close down more programs prior to ALL dvd work/burning to free up more memory

and also that log file was from the other night before i got the firmaware upgrade so the firmware isnt infact 2003 its 2006 i only got it on the 4th and still i have no burning options, could u please explain for the daft one here what i should do to make this work .... thanks

and also i meant to put there will i try and burn again with the new firmware .. ( i know it still doesnt let me select any other burns speeds cause ive checked but not burned) then send another log to see if its different

I know this may not be quite right but I had the same issue with imation cd's that claimed they were 52x but could only burn at 48X. turns out it is not 52x compatible and it was just a sticker over where it said 48x.
