HEY ALL....Well my question is probably a simple one yet I have no clue what to do. It seems when I add am Avi file to a dvd project ..using Nerovision....before the avi is converted and burned to disc it has used at least 20 gigs of my space and I only have 20.5 available on my pc....what can I do about this. It alwys stops because it runs out of space to finish converting.
Also is there a setting that will burn a dvd at a quicker rate...I am currently spending 9 - 12 hours on one dvd...is that normal???
Hope you guys can help...You alsways seem to know the answers...Thanks!!
Just a regualar AVI movie...such as sling blade or the exorcist. Nothing different from any other avi's, there must be some kind of setting on Nero ..to fix this.
Also...just I use a different converter for my avi's and then burn with Nero? Would that be quicker and better quality?
Something is definitely wrong with those files. Are you converting one AVI or 4 or 5 AVI files at once? Because one 700MB AVI movie can change into 4.35GB already, so if you're converting 5 AVI files at once into DVD, then all of those will add up to at least 20GB or more. I don't recommend converting 4 AVI movies at once. Just convert, encode one at a time. Disregard this if you only converted/did one at a time.

I have the exact same problem...I want to burn a single 700Mb AVI file to a playable DVD using Nero Vision Express...I have 23GB of free space in my D drive, and while transcoding the file Nero will eat up all the space and throw me an error message saying I have no space left...
Here´s a bit of info I could get from he AVI file.

Post a Nero burn log. 9-12 hrs on one DVD is not normal, unless you have many problems going on at once, and are using an old/slow pc.
You can find the log in these locations depending on what version of Nero you are using:
Nero 6 history log location: Program Files>Ahead>Nero>NeroHistory.txt
Nero 7 history log location: Program Files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>NeroHistory.txt These things record all burns, and we only need the last one. The burns are seperated by something like this
Quote:====== *** NeroAPI, History File *** ======
Windows XP 5.1
IA32
that was from a Nero 6 log, but 7 looks much like that. Underneath the divider is the operating system, and right below that is the begining of the serial number. When posting a log, just include the last burn log, and edit out your numbers by typing xxxx over the numbers.
Once you put a log up, ppl can start pointing out your problems and showing you how to fix them.
