is that battery pack that increases the HD to 40 gigs really worth it???

The battery pack doesnt increase the capacity to 40 Gigs.

It is a combo pack that includes a 4 Gig (not 40 Gig) Microdrive (enclosed in a case with a memory stick adapter) and higher capacity battery that enables you to use the microdrive, since it draws a lot of power, you can still use the standard battery, but it will drain in no time if the external microdrive is being used, hence they ship a double capacity battery with it

It is worth it if you have a 1.5 psp and are going to play a lot of ISO/Homebrew. However when you attach it to your psp, it wont fit in any of the standardly avaialble psp storage cases such as the original psp sleeve that sony ships with the psp or any of the logitech playgear cases.

It is not a goot idea to keep removing and re-attaching the external harddrive. Once you fist it to your psp, it fits pretty snug along with the extra capacity battery. It has a small plastic part that helps it get fixed on the back of the psp, repeated removing of the external hard drive will cause this part to weaken and finally break.
