Sure you can make a backup of a swap magic, but you'd need an original swap magic to boot it, wouldnt you?

Indeed. Which is why I wonder if there's any reason to at all.

I saw a thread around mentioning something about burning Swap Magic backups but that was the only time I ever saw anything about it.

you can't copy or make a backup of a swapmagic disk. If you look at the back of it, you can see the black line going round and round.
This is the problem as the file (about 1.0gb big) on this sector of the cd cannot be copied.

I have tried endlessly to copy it using every software I can think of and haven't got very far.
