If you keep getting CRC errors with different programs, then the disc you have is damaged. I would try getting a new one.

The answer to "THE CAVE" is here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/282892 -- I made that mini guide, especially for Newbies or for those that have not made any successful backup yet. Check it out and I GUARANTEE you 100% that you'll have a successfully working "full disc" within roughly an hr.

Good luck on following the mini guide.

If you were running AnyDVD with Decrypter and then Shrink and got the CRC error it is more than likely a bad disk. I used AnyDVD with both these programs and it ripped fine. Then used VobBlanker and backed up these files with Recode/Nero and also CloneDVD and both copies played perfectly.

Strange everybody's having success using the same thing someone else is having trouble with. I tried AnyDVD with just Recode 2 and that didn't work. So again with AnyDVD and Decrypter and then Nero Recode and nary a problem. Is there a different protection for different parts of the globe. I'm in La.USA

If you get a CRC error the disk is a bad one. Pretty much there is no prog that will get round this problem. the disk is either damaged or dirty or is a bad pressing, simple as that!
Even if you cannot see any flaws or the disc is clean & you still get CRC, then it is usually a bad press. This problem is NOT uncommon!

@gamename

That's South Louisiana (or what's left of it); not Los Angeles! We use lots of strange words, pass a good time, and eat very well! LOL

Movie size? DvdDecrypter ISO read shows 8539-Mode File select all shows 6519 but for some reason select all does not select
VTS_13_0.IFO 18kb
VTS_13_0.VOB 520kb
VTS_13_0.BUP 18kb
VobBlanker shows 6365 and Shrink shows 6351. Question is why ISO read is so much larger? I ended up using VobB/Shrink/DVDD with AnyDVD in the background came out ok.

@garmoon

There seems to be some kind of problem with AnyDVD newest update and Recode, there has been a few threads on the program erroring out. So you may want to rip to you HDD until they get it sorted.
