MXpie for Winmx Users
Welcome to the MXpie information exchange, it's here that we, the users of WinMX, explain some of the happenings that have taken place, and hopefully answer your questions thoroughly.
The MXpie team has worked diligently to find ways to keep our beloved WinMX from crumbling around us, and helping to see to it that we can seamlessly contact our friends and trade files the same way we always have.
MXpie understands that, in its prime, WinMX had an estimated 3-8million users and that MXpie.com is dedicated to reaching as many of these users as possible.
The MXpie team is founded on openness and honesty with the users, as we are all users ourselves. MXpie.com will be there to help you get connected, host and play with all of the cool plug in toys we've been accustomed to. Eventually there will be an initiative to go to an open source third party client, which will help us migrate all of our friends together to a new era of free speech and allow no issues with software distribution that plagued WinMX into the infamous ?cease and desist? order.
MXpie is not so much a program, but a group of dedicated people that, for their love of WinMX, raised it from the near dead back to a flourishing and vibrant network. MXpie promoted room to room that primaries stay connected while new software was written for peer cache servers, keeping the network on life support essentially. Team members have worked furiously to stabilize the network while simultaneously creating a substantial avenue of communications for Development, Language Translations, Legal Concerns, Public Relations, and a clearing house in Vladd44 Help Channel to make sure all those that volunteered their time and effort for saving WinMX had tasks that suited their skills. An Operation Pie forum was created on Gemini777.net with the purpose of giving users a centralized place to connect and brainstorm ideas. During the crisis, the Vladd44 channel on WinMX set up two rooms to pass out information and get people re-connected. These rooms were at over 280 users total for over two weeks. Vladd44 channel still has over one hundred users in the list and has helped thousands and thousands of people connect, find their friends, and trade files.
Going forward, MXpie.com will be your one stop shop for finding the files, patches, and port settings you need, and the help you need to maintain the fun, vibrant online life you've always known and loved. While seeing to it that we grow our network in an orderly fashion and maintain an arms length distance from trouble with the outside forces trying to take away our freedom to be here together.
I hope, now you will see, more than ever that MXpie.com will provide you with all your WinMX needs.
