Well I`m from the Netherlands, so my english isn`t very good :D

Well this is my problem:
I got 2 pc`s (packard bell) and one toshiba A80-115 Laptop, and a year ago with I think 60 KB MAX downspeed I hadn`t any problems with dc++ on my packard bell 5501 pc (with a wired router/hub). But I don`t know since when but now I`m having problems with any pc/laptop in home :D

I`ve tried it with 2 routers (one wired and one wireless) and WITHOUT any, but still for example:
dc++/newsleecher/abc/bitcomet/newsleecher/usenet explorer etc. crashes :D the whole time, sometimes in any minutes sometimes it can stay running for 6 hours! I`ve reïnstalled windows 3(!!!) times, without any results, I reïnstalled windows SP2 on my laptop, then I reïnstalled my laptop with windows SP1! I didn`t installed anything!!! No virusscanners/firewalls etc. Now I have win.2000 on my pc, but still dc++, the only program I installed, crasht in 4 hours :( :( I didn`t use a router/hub! I called my ISP and told them my story, the told me: your signal is pretty good, but your cable is onder high pressure :S I got now 2Mbits/512Kbits, so I installed netlimiter 1.30 and now I`ve got a limit of: 150KB/30KB but I really don`t know if this is the solution :(
PLZ PLZ help me, I`ve got this problem now for months and nobody know the solution.

Can it be my modem or something?? Cause I've reïnstalled my laptop (toshiba) AGAIN with windows XP SP1 without any results :( after the windows installation I've installed ONLY(!!!) newsleecher, and I was headering a little and it crashed.

I've this problem on more PC'S!! And I've used another wire for my internet so that couldnt be the problem, only my ISP or my modem!

PLZ PLZ HELP!

Why don't you ask your ISP for another modem? If it's really the problem, then you should ask for one that doesn't overload like that one, and possibly one that has some in-range limit.

You should really put SP2 into your laptop, unless the installer is corrupt, there should be no reason for it to not work. SP2 adds a lot more security features and is updated at the least monthly. The only downside is that it hinders half-open connections, which is a big thing for P2P programs. Try getting the EvID4226Patch to fix that from here: http://www.lvllord.de/?lang=en&url=news. Follow the directions and it should change the half-open connections from 10 to 50 (which should be enough for pretty decent downloads without making much security sacrifice).

You might want to cut down on the programs you use. Using ABC and BitComet at the same time could result in stability problems. Try using µTorrent instead, here's a link: http://www.utorrent.com

When you reinstalled, did you install the motherboard drivers? Some drivers control the Ethernet controller, so you might want to add them just in case.

It's also a good thing to add some anti-virus and anti-spyware programs right away when you reload, otherwise you might end up with something bad on your computer in a matter of minutes!

Refer to this thread for what programs you can get to keep your computer safe: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/292257

I can't think of anything else at the moment to help you out, but try any or all of my suggestions and see if it helps.
