my ps2 stop ejecting because the Silver tape/wire thing came out! the one that is stuck to the Motherboard, not the one connected to the top cover....
this has happened to me by accident sometimes.
open your ps2 as you would to clean it. remove the screws holding the controller slot. then flip it on its top side(attach the top cover too not let things go flying). remove the bottom. take off the HDD rack and the PSU. you should be able to see a small white slot(with the back facing you, so the slot is going to be on your right). now you need something of the width and thickness of the cable(or look for a plastic strip loose in the case). pop it back in and your done...
Your the mod chippin expert but you can't put the louzy ribbon back into the slot under the rom. Sounds newbish to me.

but if that doesn't work try popping the rom out of the little slots that hold it. it should be one in the front and 2 in the back. it will help if you unscrew the fan in the back it also has 2 screws. but once you do that you'll be access the white slot next to the wires running to the rom itself. hit back if you need help.
