Quote: An internal HD-DVD drive used for games and movies.
- not really a necessity, besides using consoles for video is bad, weakens laser life.
Quote: An HDMI slot.
- doesn't need set HDMI slot, but the HD cables and ur fine, not everyone in the world has HD and nor will it really be standard anytime soon.
Quote: Wireless A/B/G internally.
-why??, because wireless is cool?
Quote: wireless headsets.
-again why? plugging into the top of a wireless controller is just as good as it being wireless.
Quote: a smaller power kit.
-insert brain - you need to supply an adequate amount of power to keep the hardware happy (all consoles have had 'big' power kits, just keeps getting bigger w/ the more performance u expect
Quote: a water cooled system.
-more bullshit that can go wrong, why bother, just follow the manual, leave ventilated, not on carpet, etc. etc. don't get me wrong, it woulda been cool but not needed
Quote: Memory stick/pro/duo, sd/mmc, cf slots.
-now that first part is retarded, memory stick/pro/duo IS SONY why would M$ want to do something like support SONY in console wars by doing memorystick support? and sd/mmc / cf (buy a premium then u don't need those, and for transfering files, it supports thumb-drives)
Quote: smaller console.
why? u gunna say the PSone nad PStwo (slim vers.) are better then this because they are smaller? pfft the sega game gear owned gameboy and still owns the gameboy ds, it set the way for psp in my mind, and the game gear was 2x as big as the gameboy.
Quote: no core packs.
not everyone wants the hard drive
Quote: a new name. 360 is crap, they should have called it a Microsoft xenon.
The Dev. Name was Crap, why not just call it Xerox? {also see next answer}
Quote: xenon live instead of xbox live.
Retarded, why change the name of a program or system that works, have they changed windows yet? NO - they probably wont until it doesn't sell well. not to mention Xbox is now a common name w/ a consumer base, change the name of it Xenon, or something Else and u have to start all over again otherwise sony wouldn't have made a ps2 it woulda been called something else. it's all about marketing.
Quote: 1080p.
why? again not a standard and not going to be a standard, the current available options are more then satisfying
Quote: A price of £324.99 and a April release.
i don't know pounds to $ so yeah, and April release? that's no fun if ur a console seller, the stuff always sells better around holidays, usually closer to christmas the more that sell out.
Quote: and 2 more usb 2.0 ports, and bluetooth.
really, now your just being greedy, no reason for either of those besides the 2.4Ghz band that the controllers are on is a BT frequency so why waste time testing if their compatible and if they'll cause interference.?

I was reading on Wikipedia that HDMI is backward-compatible with DVI and that quality is going to be compressed if you do not have an HDMI connection.
It said: "High-definition digital video content is restricted to DVD quality on non-HDCP video outputs," and "DVD-Audio content is restricted to DAT quality on non-HDCP digital audio outputs (analog audio outputs have no quality limits)."
So when these truly High Definition videos arrive (they're even planning to have 1080p now), anything without an HDMI (and DVI is not HDMI) will not be allowed to transmit any higher than DVD quality, which is 480p.

No because wireless is more convinient than with wire. Would you rather talk witha wireless phone, or a wired phone. Can u imagine talking through a wired cell phone? Wierless lets you stay farther from the TV. So your eyes dont hurt that much.
Quote: a new name. 360 is crap, they should have called it a Microsoft xenon.
Yes, both the cpu and the GPU in the 360 are called xenon. Xenon is a more itresting name. No it doesnt help marketing calling it ps3. Why do you think nintendoes consols are named different each gen?? Do you mean nintendo rev shoyuld be called Nintendo 7?

Memory support if you wanna go to your friends and play on your account for some reason.

Funny they rushed producing the consol. But now at ces they announced they arnt releasing the consol again till end of JUNE.

Its called the future. In 3-6 years from now, 1080p is going to be way more common. You dont need a head for that.
Xenon live because he tried to refer 360 called xenon. Xenon sounds better aswell.

LMAO, they can make smaller ones, what produce more power. Ps2 Slim had a smaller one. GC had a smaller one, and PS2 didnt even have one. The 360's power support is huge. Why wouldnt you like a smaller one?
Just backing up BilaAyub. Since people like you are ignorant and dont appreciate other peoples oppinions.

How would that benefit MS? They are a company, companies have profit margins, allowing other media formats to save games would cut into the bottom line.

It will be more common, but not more affordable to the average Joe. In 7-10 years 1080p may be and therein coinsides with Xbox 720 or whatever they may call it.

Ps2 is like 1/10th the system compared to 360, of course it won't need a huge power supply. the 360 has a cpu with 3 core's running at 3.2ghz...MONSTER!
With your post I'd assume you're like 13-16 with no sense of business.

Do you need an extra power suply for a PC? NO
Pc's use more power than the xbox360 I would assume.

This has to benifit M$? Why? It benifits you. You are more important. Customers first. It shouldnt need to benefit M$.
All they want is the $$.

Have you seen a PC power supply? It's about the same size or bigger than the 360 PS if you cut the 360 PS in half and stacked it on top of itself.

Do you listen to yourself? MS is here to make money, by making their own memory cards they PROFIT, if they allowed SD or whatever to be used they'd see no profit. Companies are here to please us with what is in their best interest, not what would be best for us.
Keep playing in dreamland maybe puff the magic dragon will bring you your every desire, or maybe you'll overdose and come back to reality.

You miss understood.
It benefits you to have a memory card. It's good for you. Frankly i dont give a sh** M$ makes money off them. I dont give a dahm about their profits. For some reason you do. It would be nice to be able to have a memory card for the 360. Apperently from this thread. It doesnt. Why is this so hard for you to understand.
I say.....
It would be better if the 360 has memory cards slots.
You respond as
No profit for M$. It doesnt benefit them.
WTF?

some nice ideas, i think out of all of them i would go for only one which is the hd dvd internal drive the rest of them really do not bother me that much, also about the headset being wireless, if it was then you would have to have a bigger headset i think.

Well that's all fine and dandy but there is a definate reason why MS didn't include the things you would like.
They're already losing money on the console itself. It would double or possibly triple the cost of the console by adding all those features. charging extra for premium items helps to recoup the cost of the console loss and enable alot more people to be able to afford it.

Extra!?!? the xbox 360 has an external power supply. Your pc has an internal power supply(that big square box that screws into the top left of your pc case). It would depend on your pc whether your pc uses(needs) more power. The processor for the xbox 360 more than likely consumes more power than any processor that you can currently buy off the shelf. If you have alot of addin pci/pcie cards or your running multiple video cards/hdds, your PC probably would use more power. Take the xbox 360 psu and cut in half and form a square & you basically have the size of a pc power supply.

oh and my wireless is cool comment was refering to the a/g/b so don't mis-understand what i was saying.
as for the new name, so then windows shouldn't be called windows? it should be called microsoft biggreedydeveloper? come on, even Mac w/ OS X. atleast nintendo is using different media storage devices w/ each new console, so they can rename their stuff, besides just having nintendo in it is good enough for them.
and the 1080p about how far away? it's long ways from being broadcast regularly and or being affordable (dude i used to sell HD sets, and every electronics company told us, it was going to be atleast 7 years off [we were supposed to lie and tell customers that it'd be here by 06 but it's not even going to be thought of that widespread until atleast 2010]) common in 3-6years? dude, what console do you own from 3-6years ago? lets just say, 6years ago? ps2 and xbox and gee, if their being outdated then hmmm, in 6years they'll release another console, lifespan of consoles isn't very long if u look at next gen systems, and don't think the ps3/360/n.rev. will be the end of all consoles. they said that w/ ps2 and xbox.
and thanks to aug, for backin me up.
also most corp. don't care what the customer thinks why do you think the PSP only accepts Sony Stick Duo? as apposed to XD/SD/Thumbs whatever! the customer is never the priority, and sorry if i sound like a prick but you gotta learn the business.
some of those things you mention would be nice to have but shoots production and retail price WAY up. maybe wireless headsets will be available farther down the line. but last i heard ps3 was releaseing 2 different units as well.
oh well, i'm done. again my 2 cents

No real offense but...thats got to be the dumbest thing I've ever read on these forums. No company does anything to benefit anyone but themselves. Even if it appears it is for public good they are doing it to increase the positive image of the corporation in the public eye. Business rule #1: The CEO's and BOD's SOLE responsibility is to increase shareholder wealth.
Quote: In 3-6 years from now, 1080p is going to be way more common. You dont need a head for that.
In 6 years there will be a new generation of consoles and your comment will then be irrelevant. You don't need a head for that.

the xbox 360 has been out for about 1 1/2 months.its ok saying the xbox must have this and could had that but its early doors yet.the xbox was out for about 4-5 years and just have look at the improvements and changes M$ made to the xbox. They made the controllers smaller because noone liked them,M$ brought out different colour xboxs(I.E cystal and the green xbox).when the original xbox first came out everyone was commenting on how ugly it was and how big the controllers were.how can you expect M$ to know how well there xbox will be before its released?if there is something missing on the xbox that everyother console has(I.E ps2 had no hardrive so sony brought out a external harddrive that you plugged into one of the usb ports)then M$ will do something about that to keep up with the competition. And if M$ was to add loads of unneeded things (Memory stick/pro/duo, sd/mmc, cf slots etc) then you may aswell call the xbox a copy of a computer.its a console, console were originally made to play games not to have all this media crap.believe me M$ WILL make changes to the console so stop the f*ucking complaining its getting annoying.
