I have a NEC ND3540A external dvd burner and I saw on their site that you shouldn't use the firmware on usb drives. How or am I suppose to update the firmware on an external dvd burner? Has anyone here done this in the past? Thanks for the responses.

I am not sure about why. You should check this thread out from CD freaks forum. Liggy and Dee have modified firmware for your drive.
