I?ve been using DVD Shrink combined with Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 Basic DVD Edition successfully for over a year. I recently installed Norton Internet Security 2006. This somehow activated the Windows Automatic Updates, which had downloaded some stuff. I?ve since disabled the wretched Windows Automatic Updates. Following a NAV scanning that might?ve gotten too aggressive, the following is now happening with every DVD I try to copy:

1) I disable Norton Internet Security

2) DVD Shrink ? This stage of the process proceeds as as normal.

3) Roxio ? This stage of the process proceeds as normal also. I do a slow, 4X burn on a Plextor burner.

4) When I attempt to play the burned DVD in my home theater DVD player, it won?t read (the player shows a ?Bad? signal)

5) When I attempt to play the burned DVD on my PC?s DVD player I get the following error message:

?DVD Error
Error Code: 80004027A
DVD-Video playback graph building failed?

I?ve uninstalled DVD Shrink, downloaded a fresh version and reinstalled it, but the same sequence noted above occurs. I?ve Googled for this problem and have found very little. Any ideas?

PS: Might there be something going on with new 2006 DVD?s (e.g., ?Wedding Crashers?, ?Broken Flowers?)?

Still having the problem.

?DVD Error

Here?s what else I?ve tried:

1) I went to the ForceASPI 1.7 page (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/frcaspi.cfm ) and ran ?dumpASPI" to backup the current ASPI layer, then ran ?instASPI? to install the new ASPI layer.

FWIW, I also tried to create a data disc (of only Word files) via ?Sonic Record Now? and received the following error message and code:

?An Error Occurred While Verifying Files

Sense: 03 ASC: 02 ASCQ: 82 (Command BE)

px.dll: 1.1.0.424
pxdrv.dll: 1.0.43.0
pxmas.dll: 1.5.0.132
pxwave.dll: 1.2.0.94
pxwma.dll: 1.0.0.3?

My burner is a Plextor PX-716A.

I had a similar problem, I was using powerdvd as the player.
I tried the aspi driver, did not work.
I reinstalled the player and the error went away.
That was my solution fwiw.
