I downloaded Lost Season 2 Episode 1 onto my computer and it is an .AVI file and when I try to use windows media player to run it, it says that their was an error downloading the codec or something and it wont let me play it. Can anyone help?

Try downloading FFDShow, it's a fairly popular codec pack. You may need to tinker with the settings a bit but it will probably solve your problem.

Also, try watching it using something like Power DVD.
