hi everyone i can only imagine how many slaps i will probably get for asking help with this matter . i have fumbled through some of the threads and no mater how many times i try and apply any ideas that i thought i picked up on , im still not getting it . if there is anyone feeling patient enough to help walk me through this like a two year old would you step up please. i have a linksys network everywhere none wireless router . serial is sc0ooe811888 model is nr041. most of you may think that i am just lazy and am not willing to learn this on my own , but please shed me a little compassion in these areas as i just started tinkering around with these machines a little over 6 mounths ago . i want the router to be set up properly to run with azureas bit torrent software . i can only reach a rare speed of 20kb's and that only last a second or two . usually is around 1 to 2 kb's . i have cable internet . i am using sygate firewall which is set to allow the app full permission . i do have winxp with service pack two and i am pretty sure the firewall is operational . but not sure how to check and see if it is allowing azureus full access or not . and i definatly do not get this whole router thing . i can however get at the settings by typing in the address and entering in the password , but from there i am lost . i no to go into the advanced settings and then to the port page but am very lost at that point . if it is not going to help the speeds much than is all this nessasary. i read all over that opening your ports is the way to go ,but this task is a little above my head . thanks a heck of alot to anyone that can help me get on track.
