The only thing I can think of is that the laser on that old ps2 is bad. You should not have a problem with the swap magic. I have an older ps2 with a flip top and swap magic and they work fine. I also know that they are fine with dvd+r's. +/-r's both work just fine. I had a friend that for some reason the games that worked on my ps2 wouldn't work on his. He purchased a new ps2 and the worked fine. The funny thing is, is that the games used to work on his ps2, 2 months previous.

Hope that helps

Hey.. about that um, when I boot my backups, the ps2 start macking this little noises and some times the game stops (for a super very short time) and then resume. The console wasnt doing this before.. Is thet a laser problem? If it is, what stores or center, clean the lasers, and at what cost?

Tank ya!
happy new year pals

Hey Palverez...... One thing that you can try is taking a cotton swab with alcohol, open your flip top and just wipe the laser..... but when I say that it is your laser I don't mean that it is dirty, I mean that the laser is going bad. Playing your backups is much harder on your laser than playing the actual game. The longer you play your backups the worse it is for your laser, and eventually the laser goes and you either need to purchase a new laser and replace the old one or buy a new playstation. hope that helps

Malibu, what kind of DVD+R's are you using. It sounds like a media problem. Try Booktyping the DVD+R's.

53. Q. What is Booktyping?
A. Booktyping is the ability to burn a DVD+R so it that appears as a pressed DVD-ROM in any DVD-ROM drive it's inserted in. If you booktype DVD+R's, this allows for greater compatibility with most stand alone DVD players, including your PS2. Your burner has to support booktyping (most newer ones do).
