dual layer "incomplete" problem

I am new to this site, but I'm hoping you all can help. I been backing up my dvd collection for years now, but just started with dual-layer. My burner is a NEC and I have had some success, but have wasted more expensive dual layer discs than made copies. My current problem is with the Island. I do what all have said and use decrypter and iso read then iso write with an MDS file, and everything burns fine, but when complete my pc recognizes it as a CD and the status shows "incomplete". I tried imageburn to see if this program would do any better, but no luck. I've seen others with this same problem. Is there a fix?? I'm looking for suggestions as i'm sick of wasting dvd's at $3 a pop.

what model nec do u have? mine is a 3500. i had the same problem with dvddecrypter, after i updated my firmware last time. try using Nero to burn with, it worked for me.
