I have a little problem. I managed to get a backup copy of my True Crime NYC PS2 game and used Swap Magic disc to load it.
It was all in colour, working fine, until it got to a cutscene and I noticed that the characters were out of sync. Then I actually played the game and it felt very slow and sluggish.
Now maybe its just the copy I have or maybe its something to do with the fact that I am running a NTSC game on a 50hz TV. Can anybody tell me whether that is why the game is running slowly?
I dont know much about TVs, I just watch them, but im sure that 50hz TVs dont work with NTSC games.
BTW, im in England so my PS2 is PAL. My TV is 50hz.
I've ordered a converter thing that changes the game from NTSC to PAL.
Okay, i've just seen another thread with a very similar problem. I tried playing the game in NTSC mode instead of PAL mode and the cutscenes were working fine...but obviously it was in black and white.
So it isn't anything to do with the game being broken, its just my TV.
Hopefully that converter I bought will sort things out... :)
I might be wrong, but I was reading the description of that converter thing and it says it converts the signal from NTSC to PAL, but isn't that what Swpa Magic does when you select the video mode? Or does that do something different?
