ICO, Quake 3 and other PS2 Cd Games not working!

HI,
for some reason my playstation will not play cd games, however dvds run fine. The main reason I am posting this is because I have a back up if ICO which i am dying to play but, and this being true to real (especially quake 3) and backup cd games, it does the usual thing of the fan going crazy and nothing loading properly. One sort of half baked solution i saw someone post in an earlier thread was, could you burn a cd game on to dvdr? this would solve my problem.

If anyone has any idea of how to solve this problem, i would be most appreciative.

i think youre laser need to be clean...or fix. Or you could convert the cd into dvd format.
