Hi all,

I downloaded the FFX international version, but when i burn it and play it the screen goes blank.

I use matrix infinity and burn them with dvddecrypter on RITEC media
I also tried 3 other brands and speeds, and alcohol.

Could it be that the iso is bad?
Or is there something special with this iso?

I have burned many iso's on these dvd's and with dvddecrypter.

Thanks in advance.

When i check with iso buster or apache 3 my SLPS_250.26 file is only 4.7mb instead of the 4gig.

How can i burn this?

It could be the iso. Is your firmware up to date?

92. Q. What is firmware and why should I care?
A. Firmware as defined by AD:
Sort of a "operating system of the hardware", an embedded instruction set built-in or flashed into a hardware equipment, such as a router, CDR drive, DVD-ROM drive, washing machine, etc.
Newer Firmware can unlock new features that are sealed on certain DVD Burners like booktyping, or simply enhance your existing Burner by improving burn quality and media compatiblility. Keeping your Firmware up to date is essential to ensure quality burns and maximum functionality from your DVD Burner. When flashing your burner with new Firmware, be very careful. Make sure you shut down all programs running in the background, the DVD-ROM drive is empty, and you follow all the directions included in the Firmware download exactly. A bad flash can fry your DVD Burner. Proceed with caution. You can find all the Firmware you'll ever need here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php

I have a nec and a plextor burner.
Both gave me bad dvd's.

I will update my nec dvd and try to burn it one more time.
If this doesnt work, its a bad iso i gues.

Even when i try to remake it in cddvgen i get "to short"

Thank you for the reply

How did you burn it?
Where the files:
R18_PS2_DVD_SERIES.mdf
R18_PS2_DVD_SERIES.mds

I tried everything, and no dice.

I have a matrix infinity chip with V1.75 firmware.

Well he didn't necessarily download the same version you did. He could've backed up an original, he didn't specify in his post. What's the media code on those Ritek's?

91. Q. What is the Media ID of a DVD and how can I find it?
A.The Media ID of a DVD is the true measure of it's quality. It contains prerecorded info about the disc's manufacturer. The quality of the disc will vary depending on the media code. The media code isn't visible on the disc or the packaging. To check the media ID, Open DVD Decrypter, insert your disc, and check what it says under Media ID or Manufacturer ID. You can also use a program called DVD Identifier which is very useful. You can find it here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/dvd_id...
Last but not least you can use DVD Info Pro: http://www.dvdinfopro.com/
Compare the Media ID to this link: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

RitekG05 is the media code.

I think its the ISO cause i just burned kingdom hearts the same way on the same dvd's and it works.
And when i check the iso with buster i also get 5mb instead of 4.2gig.
But it works.
FFX doesnt, im gone delete the iso, i wasted around 9 dvd's already :(

Yeah it probably is the iso. I have several games backed up RitekG05 without any issues. You realize since you have a Matrix Infinity, you can download the NTSC-US version and use the built in Y fix to center the game perfectly, right? Simply hit triangle+circle at bootup to enter the firmware menu. Then you go to color (or whatever the very first option is, it might be Screen fix) and set it to NTSC. Then you set the Y fix to auto. Hit start to save your settings and reset the game. The screen should then be centered perfectly like a PAL game. I've downloaded two PAL games and used my Matrix Infinity to center them perfectly, like NTSC games.

Yes i play NTSC games on my PAL box and they work flawless.
Im very happy with the infinity, and besides the ffX all the games run flawless. PS2 PAL and NTSC and psx games.

Im gone stop looking at the iso and just delete the bugger :)

thank you for all the help. In the long run its been a very helpful problem for me, i learned alot :)

Maybe now i can start helping people here with problems.

I downloaded mine from mininova. I think it is the only one in there.
But I don't think it was an mdf file. It's the one with 77 rar files and 2 txt files.
That one works for sure.
