I am useing bitcomet and am pretty new to it. I am only getting about a 3-10 kb per second download speed. I hear of peoples going up to 500 This is crazy! I have a dsl connection with no router. I heard about opening ports or something but I don't know what that means. Can someone help me plz.

I know nothing of Bitcomet but port forwarding is only necessary if you have a router, as far as I know. Perhaps your firewall was denied access, ensure your upload rate is set high enough or even try a different client. Those getting 500 probably have very fast computers with higher than 4 MB connections, are downloading a file with many seeds and peers and set a high upload. I get between 50 - 150 and occasionally 200 with BitTornado and 2.5 DSL. Also, make sure the file has lots of seeds and peers; I have seen speeds of 3 - 10 with few.
