Removing "Cingular" text on 6102 screen?

My friend here wants to remove the "Cingular" text on his phone because it goes right across Jessica Simpson's forehead. I knew how to do this with several Verizon Phones and AT&T phones, but they were all Motorola and I know nothing about GSM and SIM cards. I'd really appreciate any help I can get!
