hi, i just wanted to know what sites i can go to, to download files off. Is there any other way i can download files using the smartftp client?

public FTPs suck, their generally SLOWWWW and hella unrealiable. One day its there, the next its either hella slow or just gone deleted. Oh yea cant forget their also highly insecure. you dont whose running that public FTP server or what the SysAdmin is doing ie logging all server activity and turning logs over to the Feds etc.

No problem.. Didnt wanna come off sounding paranoid or nuffin , just stating a cold fact about public ftps. you are far better off finding yerself some privately run ftp servers. Thats the hard part - finding private ftps, but they can be found :)

Search for fxp boards (which are pretty much just public ftps aka hacked/owned or pwned boxes) is one way. FXP boards/communites are just as bad as public ftps. Id avoid that route personally.

another way to find private ftps is join an IRC channel, make some friends have something to offer (bandwidth, HDD space, hardware etc) DirectConnect (DC/DCC+) communites I hear often have member only private ftps. Just gotta look around, but you need to know what you are doing. you have no idea how to use FTP, than dont even bother trying to get access to someone's private ftp.
