GENUINE Nero 7 premium serial mumber will not work

I have a genuine Nero 7 premium software package which I brought from Amazon.co.uk it cost me £42 with the box and with a book in grey and on the cd jewel case it says attention do not discard this is your serial number, but every time I place the number which is many times in Nero 7 it will not work and there is a red minus button sign next to it so obviously the software does not work but it?s a proper genuine serial number, Can someone tell me what I?m doing wrong ?although I KNOW its nero?s fault, I tried emailing Nero but they don?t reply and don?t have a telephone number offering help either, I?m using Microsoft windows XP professional with it.

Did ya buy the software used? The reason I ask is if it used and the serial number was passed round then Nero might have blocked it. Then the only way is contact Nero and explain this along with ya reciept to get a new serial number.:>

Your Serial number is most likely alright. That red minus sign is if you want to remove that # and use a new one.

Thank you both for help repling but i DID buy the Nero software Brand New, it had never been before used and the software still shuts down so help is still needed, i have not registered it yet but i dont see that would stop me usiing the software or would it ?

What if you uninstalled Nero 7 then went to the Website and downloaded the Nero 7 demo. Then once it's installed with the trial # you change the trial # to the valid # you purchased. It's just a shot.

Let us know if you find a fix.

Thank you All for your kind help and advise, Nero themselves at last have been in touch and have agreed to send me another serial number hopefully this one when it arrives will work.
