I used musicbrainz to tag my mp3s, but it didn't find all of them. So I used tag and rename to have it tag according to filename. I use itunes to play them. Now most of my file names are screwed up and in different folders. Example: Rob Zomebie Dragula. It is now in the folder 03 Rob Zombie and the file reads 03 03 Rob Zombie-Hellbilly delux. I tried to run it through musicbrainz again and it dosn't work. Is there anyway I can restore the old filenames?
Thanks

If the tags are correct, use tag & rename. T&R can rename the files in any format you choose (artist - track # - title, title - artist...so on...you can customize it anyway you want) based on the ID tag of the mp3. use the "rename file" section of T&R.

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

well then use T&R to connect to the freedB database and it will automaticaly re-tag your albums for you. (You have to do it one album at a time). Then you can rename your files based on the tags.
