OpenDML AVI files Freeze in player

If I play an OpenDML AVI file in my DVD player it gets stuck about 20 Min in and just freezes on the screen. However files that just show AVI and not OpenDML play fine with out freezing and going no further.
Anyone know why the OpenDML files will be freezing after 20 Min?

how is the dvd player, my first thoughts are, the disks might be scratched up or you may have a faulty dvd player
