I've searched for ages for a way to run two hard drives and no DVD drvie with my softmod, no luck. I need to somehow disable the "DVD Check" and from what I've found, it's not possible to edit the bios on a softmod (please correct me if I'm wrong).
So that's why I'm considering a chip. I have no idea how to use them but basically, what I'm looking for is a chip that can do the following (perferably cheap+solderless):

-Disable "DVD Check"
-Simaltaniously run two hard drives (not switch between the two)
-Run my existing hard drive configuration (dash's, apps)

Hopefully I'm not too far off asking for those features and there is a chip out there for this. Any suggestions/reccomendations?

Thanks for the help, I'll take your advice on not going solderless. But I've seen that tutorial before and it involves switching between the two.
I would like to be able to have both hard drives powered on at the same time. This seems to me entirely possible because it does not conflict with the 2-device limit (as long as the DVD drive is gone). And I'm sure someone has done this before, I just am curious if chip selection matters.
