was just browsing the site and saw this topic.
The 360's hard drive is a 2.5" notebook drive according to microsoft.
Does anyone reckon its possible to use an adaptor from a 2.5" to 3.5" (available for about £10 or $15) and put a normal pc hard drive in there. Just a thought i had, it might be that an additional pc power supply is needed but could it be done because it could open a whole new possibility for hardware modding.
Would be curious to see if it works, and it wouldnt cost that much to try providing microsoft arent lying about the 360 again.
you can use your old hard drive in the 360, It's as simple as this, for 2.5 [laptop drives] to 3.5 [standard internal] drives you will need an extenal ide to usb 2.0 inclosure, can be had for as little as 20 bucks, comes with ac adapter for power, and usb cable to link up to xbox, install any hard drive into same type inclosure hook up the drive to pc format the hardrive to fat 32, once done unplug take it to your 360 and plug it into a usb port [prefebly the one in back]
and wallah added space to 360, please note as of this writing it is only usefull for music and picture's and will not read anything else.
I tried this with my old 160gb deskstar worked a charm!!
