Did you flash the chip with Toxic OS? You need to flash the chip to get it to read backups.

Yeah. Burn to CD using these instructions:

Yes you unzip it. Then burn it to CD with Alcohol 120%.

1. Open Alcohol 120%.
2. Insert your blank CD-R.
3. Go to File-->Open and browse to the cue file. Double click it.
4. Once it's open under Alcohol 120%, right click the cue file and click image burning wizard.
5. Select your recorder, set the write speed to 4x, leave the write method alone, the datatype to PS2, and click next.
6. Once it's done, insert the CD in your PS2 and follow the onscreen prompts.

Your welcome. I keep asking when AD is going to start paying me, and they keep telling me the check is in the mail. It's been in the mail for a couple months now though...

That's the correct method. From your PM, you burned it too fast. 25x is way too fast. At the fastest you'd want to burn it at 4x or 8x. The lowest speed my burner writes at for CD Burning is 12x and that works okay. Is your firmware up to date? Your burner probably writes slower than 25x. You could try burning it with CDR-WIN or Nero.

Ok, once again no luck. But this time it just went to the menu screen of the ps2 rather then the red screen popping up.(Also I used Nero cuz Alcohol 120% wont burn any slower.

You to need to enable the chip so it can read the Flash CD. Make sure the chip is enabled. When you unzip the firmware download, you get a cue file and a bin file, correct? You need to:

1. Open Nero Burning ROM

2. Click on Burn CD-ROM (ISO), click New.

3. Browse to the cue file. Double click it.

4. Click burn. Under the "Iso" tab, make sure Date Mode is set to Mode 2/XA. Make sure under the "Multisession" tab, no multisession is checked. Under the "Burn" tab, make sure write is checked and finalize CD is checked. Also make sure write method is set to disc at once. Set the write speed as low as possible and click burn.

According to the instructions I posted, you need to put the PS2 in standby to enable the chip. Simply turn your PS2 on so that the red power light is on, without pressing anything. Wait 15 seconds or so then hit the reset or eject button to bring it out of standby. The chip should automatically reactivate. So it played backups fine before?

Yes, it played back ups great before.N/p at all, then one day it messed up and didnt play them anymore, then I just held square when the ps2 was turning on and it sent me to the mod chip config screen and i just enabled everything again. Then it screwed up again(right now) and now when i hold square to get to the config screen it doesnt respond to it.

You do not want to open your PS2. You're not a pro, and it's highly likely you'll just butcher your PS2 or chip in the process. It sounds like a might be a malfunction. Take it back to whoever modded it and see what they say. Either way you need a professionals opinion.
