hi, please help me if you can. my little lad's original copy of 'off road wide open' for the ps2 has stopped loading on his console so i would like to back it up to dvd as i have heard that ps2's will play dvd's better than cd's and he absolutely loves this game.i only have dvd decypter, dvd shrink and nero 6 on my pc and wondered if it possible to backup a cd based ps2 game using any of this software?
i really do not want to install any more software if i can avoid it, so would like to use what i currently have. thank you in advance for any help.
Only do this if your ps2 is modded or have a working bootdisk and swap method
if this ps2 game has a blue surface then its a cd game and will have to be burned onto a cd, Nero smartstart, cd, copy and backup, disc copy and select the lowest burn speed possible.
If its a silver surface then its a dvd and will need to be burned onto a DVD-R (not sure wether your ps2 is compatable with DVD+R, mine isn't)
Either goto dvd decryptor and copy dvd or Nero smartstart, dvd, disc copy, then select the lowest burn speed possible. ( You might want to slow down the read speed aswell if its really high.
the game i am trying to back up is a cd as it has a blue surface and also tells you that it is on the back of the box. my ps2 is modded and has been for the last 4 years so that is not the issue here. how can i use Nero to back up the cd as it has copywrite protection on it? i did not think that Nero could backup copywrited material?
thanks for the help. did what you said but there are several unrecoverable read errors on the disc, so i guess it will have to go in the bin! never mind, we tried. for future reference though, is it correct that Nero will backup even copyrited cd based ps2 games?
