I have about pulled my hair out trying to make backup's. I could not get it until i changed some settings in dvd decripter. Now the game loads with the swap-disk, it plays for about 4 min. and then hangs up.
What the @#$*#@@ is going on! before i could make a backup i found an iso of a game i had and downloaded it. I burned it on the cheap-o comp usa brand dvd+r and it worked. So i dont know if the media i am using is the prob or not. I saw a link in the FREQ for the Taiyo Yuden 4x dvd-r. Is that ok or do you need something else?

taiyo yuden are really good. the important thing is that they should be original.

at wat speed did u burn the game? it is recommended that you burn it half speed of the disc. say 4x then 2x, 8x then 4x.

another thing cud be that ur laser is dying. so if ur ps2 is too old then it might be the laser but if it is a new one then i doubt if it is the laser.

Cheap media makes alot of people pull their hair out. Taiyo Yuden is the best media on the planet, it's all I use. I've burned 120 PS2 games to TY's with 0 coasters. I use the 8x Taiyo Yuden DVD-R's Media ID TYG02. The 4x Taiyo Yuden's work just as well, you'd just need to burn at 2x on the 4x discs. Order them from http://www.supermediastore.com Make sure you order from there, there are a lot of fake Taiyo Yuden's out there. If you want to find some good media locally, see if any of the Maxell's at CompUSA have "Made in Japan" on the label. If so, those are extremely high quality media and they're worth a buy. Also the Sony DVD+R's that are Made in Japan are Taiyo Yuden's. The key is the "Made in Japan" on the label. That's where all the top quality media comes from.
