I'm using the Nero 7 demo, trying to decide whether to buy. There are a few issues I've bumped up against, and I wonder if anyone else has also.
When importing a disc with Nero Vision, some files are split into separate segments that do not splice smoothly back together. When adding video files from the disc, this doesn't happen, but adding video files from disc can take quite a bit longer than importing individual titles. Ideally, it would be nice to be able to import a title and have it in my project in a single segment.
Also, I've noticed the DVDs I've made so far with Nero 7 cannot be searched by entering the time (HH:MM:SS). The time can be entered, but pressing 'enter' or 'play' just clears the screen. It doesn't move you to that point on the video. Has anyone else noticed this? Or found a fix?
I'm a longtime user of Peak to edit audio, with which you can edit and splice with extreme precision. I notice less precision when editing video with Nero Vision: the cut point you select never seems to be the precise point you wanted. If you want to cut at 22:13.05 you seem to get it, but what's onscreen isn't what you expected at that point. Is there a rule of thumb I never learned? Or could it be my crappy monitor?
Generally, I like Nero 7 because it can import my DVD recorder files, something no other program I've tried has been able to do at all (including Nero 6). Any suggestions for dealing with these issues? Or if Roxio has a demo version? LOL. Thanks.
