Hello guys & girls,

Just found your site thru searching.
I am totally new to this game. I have Nero Ultra version 6.6.0.18 and recoder version 2.2.6.17.

I also have Clonedvd, (not the slysoft version). I can copy some dvds with clonedvd alone. Some will play on my dvd player, some will only play on my computer. I have never tried to use Nero. My question is can I copy dvds with Nero alone, or do I need another program with it. Is there a step by step tutorial on how to use Nero to make copys?

As I said I am totally new to this and just want to make backups, and would appreciate any help.

PS, Gateway 831GM, Intel P4 3.0 Ghz, 200 GB HD, LiteOn DVD RW (SOHW-1633S) RW Drive, LiteOn DVD SOHD-16P9S Rom drive

What is the easiest way for a newbie to backup DVD's

Thanks. Any help is appreciated.

Is this in addition to Nero, or do I just need AnyDVD and CloneDVD (from Slysoft)? Are they easy to use?

Thanks

Those two programs are all I use now. If you want to compare results, you can use AnyDVD and whatever ripper/shrinker/burner you want. You already have an excellent program in Nero.

Ok, I may try the 21 day trial for the AnyDVD and CloneDVD. Does anyone have any promo codes for these programs?

Thx

I tried Nero once before but it said it could not copy a copy-written disk.
So basically, all I need is AnyDVD and Nero will work?

Thx again

AnyDVD, Recode, and Nero will do the trick. AnyDVD to remove protections, Recode to encode/shrink and Nero to burn.

I assume this is harder than clonedvd/anydvd? Or is it just a matter of an extra step? If it is fairly simple to do, I will go that route with recode and Nero, being that I already have Nero. Is recode hard to use? Is there a step by step tut somewhere to go this way?

Thx

Use this site for excellent guides. I only use AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2, but the other programs are not much more difficult to use and provide a greater degree of flexability. A number of people swear by these programs.
