I purchased the full version of Nero but I downloaded the latest version(7.0.1.4b) of it through the Nero site. I installed it with my serial number but it still shows as Demo in the Add/Remove programs. How do I get it to show Nero 7 Ultra Edition? See pic below:
Also when I go to update my Nero, it tells me it can't find an internet connection but as you can see in the pic below that I'm clearly connected. What could be the problem?
The Demo version and the Ultra version are the same thing. If you have a paid for serial number, it is supposed to unlock any features hidden on the trial version.
Quote:. How do I enter the serial number to unlock Nero from demo mode?
Please follow the steps below:
Launch Nero and go to Nero's Help. Enter the serial number in´Enter New Serial Number´. The Nero window will close. Just relaunch Nero te activate the full mode.
I am not sure what is going on with the internet connection you posted. Here is what Nero says:
Quote:3. I have problems downloading your software from your website.
This may be the result of our servers being down or an unusual amount of traffic on our website. If this is the case, all you need to do is try again a little later. If an error occurs over the weekend and the server is down, the situation will be fixed the following Monday. We provide up to six servers to download from, so it's unlikely that all six will be down at the same time.
In most cases, the problem is a result of issues on the customer?s side of the connection. To resolve issues at your end, please take the following steps:
Disable any anti-virus program such as Norton Protection or similar programs.
If you are at work, you may need to ask your IT administrator, as you may have a firewall preventing such downloads.
Contact your Internet Service Provider.
Try downloading from another computer.
Turn off all popup blockers
and this is for another type of error:
Quote:13. I cannot install Nero because of 'Error 1606: Could not access network location ...'.
This error comes up because of some illegal values in the registry.
To resolve this installation error you have to open the registry going to ´Start --> Run --> Regedit´:
Open HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
There you have to delete the key ´recent´.
In some cases you have to do the same in: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
and another one:
Quote:. I'm unable to connect up to the CDDB database. Why?
First make sure you are connected to the Internet at the time you attempt to create an Audio CD, copy it or drag and drop audio files.
If you still have trouble, please try the following solution:
Select the 'More' button and go to the 'Configure' option.
Select the 'Database' tab and uncheck the option for 'Read Server (http):'.
Recheck it and select 'Apply' or 'OK'.
For Nero Burning ROM:
Go to 'File --> Preferences --> Database' and uncheck the option for 'Read Server (http):'.
Recheck the 'Read Server (http):' option and select 'Apply' or 'OK'.
Now try the operation again and see if it connects this time.
@alkohol and maxburn - Thanks for the responses! As long as it doesn't try to expire after 30 days then I'm ok. Maybe this will be something they'll include in the next update.
@creaky - sorry for the multipost. How do I 'bump' a thread?
A "bump" is when you have your post and no one replies for a day or so, and you just post to your own thread saying either "bump", or put something down like "i really need help with this". This causes your post to go to the top of the list as it has a new reply. Sort of like cutting in line, but you've been in line for a while. It takes some time for ppl to see your post and respond to it, so be reasonably patient. In this case your other post linked to this one so it sort of worked like a "bump". It is not something to be abused, but in this case, it worked for you, and didn't cause problems. The problem with multiple post on the same subject is ppl will respond to both threads, and might get lost trying to find the original message or poster.
Quote:13. Do not "bump" up threads that you want to remain on the first page. Instead contact a moderator and ask him to "sticky" the thread if necessary.
Thanks for pointing that out Jeanc1. I somehow got from the post that creaky had told newtechie to bump. I guess if no one answers your original post, they are supposed to post again, later on?? I don't know, as i respond to most posts, and put up very few of my own. I thought stickys were for things like guides, and important topics..
