(1) did u install the motherboards audio driver?
(2) is your windows mixer (volume control) set to mute for that channel?
Start\All Programs\Accessories\Entertainment\Volume Control
(3) If the above is ok then u might have to set a jumper on your motherboard to use the built in soundcard. Look in the motherboars manual. Let us know if this helped

it's really strange, i can listen to music off CD's but when i put in a DVD movie and try to watch it there is no audio, i have gone into volume control and made sure that nothing is muted... also when i try to burn DVD's nothing in the Audio TS folder burns, i don't know why...

Does your computer have a sound card? There are 3 connectors to connect when installing a DVD. The smallest one of the 3 is for sound which should go to your sound card or motherboard area for sound. You may not have it plugged into the right connector.

If it can play audio cd's thats fine, sounds like its not decoding the dvd audio (also known as AC3 Audio) Does your mother board support AC3 5 CH OR EVEN 2CH DOLBY SURROUND?

well i know i have a sound card, but i don't know if it supports the type you were talking about.... i really don't know what to do here, if it doesn't work then would i have to buy a completely new sound card? cause this is a brand new computer, it seems like i wouldn't need to buy a newer sound card
