I've been a playstion since it fist came out. I bought the Ps1, Ps2 and just bought the xbox360. I think the system is awesome and I'm not sure if I will by the PS3. Why does everyone argue over what system is the Best? It's childish and the one's that argue over the system are too cheap to buy both systems. Why not have both. If the Ps3 is awesome I'll buy it too since I have over 100 ps1 and ps2 games. Like I said stop arguing and enjoy that 2 major companies are busting their tales entertaining us with these systems.
And i dunno how ps3 fandboys can say it sucks. The 360 sucks compared to what? theres nothing on the market right now that can compare to it, which only leads me to the conclusion that its great :P
to be honest with you i dont think your ps1 or ps2 games will do you any good with the ps3.. the blu ray drive doesnt even play dvds, so i think the games are going to be of no use unless you keep a ps2 as well.

The ps3 will definitely play dvds. Its backwards compatible and there will be ps3 games released on dvds.

as of early jan. '06 sony claimed at the ces event that ps3 will not only play the blu ray format but will be backwords capable, playing ps1,ps2,ps3,audio cd, dvd, blu ray ... heres where i got this info.... when u go to the site on the right side there is an area that plays trailers, if you click on "show playlist" and then the CES event, you can watch a 5 min clip er so which reveals this info.
