However when i download something off limewire the speed only goes upto 50kbps and that is when i download off alot of hosts, but usually it stays at around 20. Ive seen alot of help for bit torrents but can anyone help me this.

when you search lets just say "weezer" wait for search results to come in. The one with the numbers to the left download fastest, because they have lots of hosts. Hope this helps.

to open the incoming ports, open internet explorer then type http://192.168.1.1 as the url. a box will come up and you type the user name. (the name of your computer) then type the password which is (admin) since i don't know what kind of router you got go to http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/router...
and find what kind of router you got. then find the program you are trying to open ports for as you were saying LIMEWIRE and it will tell you step by step how to do it. That should help the incoming connection

For your benefit, I'll explain where in fact you, poolplaya, double posted.

If you wish to double post, be my guest. I was merely pointing out something for your benefit so that you can continue to enjoy the free advice that people give on this forum. If you wish to bash everyone that spends hours of their time on this forum, be my guest. But if you take just a second to sit back and think, perhaps you'll find that what I suggested was for your benefit.

thanks for the help. Im not sure if im using a router, im using a completetly wireless broadband "NOW WIRELESS BROADBAND" dey supplied the modem and it ses NOW on it.

BTW i didnt double post as i needed help for two differnt programs and to avoid confusion i seperated them. IF you read the title one is about help for Azureus and this one is about help for LIMEWIRE. there is a difference.

pooplaya,

I realize that they are different programs, but what I didn't realize is that you didn't know that the answer to both problems you're facing is the same. That's right, one answer will solve both your problems. That said, I thought you knew that.

As for your problem, if you're connected wirelessly to the new 'Now Wireless Broadband' then more information is needed in order to figure out your problem. Is your computer directly connected to the 'Now' modem? Or are you using a wireless card?

If you are directly connected to the modem (via an ethernet cord) then you're done. The only thing you have to do is make sure the xp firewall allows azerus to work.
If you're connected via a wireless card then there's more to it. Please post with more details.

Hi,
I think I have exactly the same problem, also using completely wireless internet through a modem provided. My pc is directly connected to the modem that receives the wireless signal.

In my case, Limewire often starts up with 'turbo-charged' then after a minute or so get disconnected, then downloads continue at a ridiculous 0-5 kb/s ('dispite being disconnected) even if there's 60+ sources. But even at 'turbo-charged' it was 0-5 kb/s. Usually it's 0-1 kb/s.

I use Kerio firewall and gave JavaW and Limeware full privileges. I even tried a solution adding a filter rule for TCP and UDP, for the port given in limewire (not sure if i did it right though).

Thanks for any help.
