I just bought a new sandisk sansa MP3 player. I have successfully loaded and listened to 35 different songs. When I hook the USB wire back up to the computer to try to use it through Windows media player nothing happens. When I pull it up under my computer it shows that the player is empty. This mp3 and digital music stuff is for the birds. Also I am afraid that the place that I am getting my music from is probably doing some illegal stuff. I just dont know enough about what is going on. Someone please help with the technical problem above. Thanks

You should just be able to drag and drop the mp3 files into it through windows explorer or like you said just sync it with media player. I have a 1gb Sansa player and both ways work with mine. There is also a firmware upgrade available for the device at their website. I upgraded mine and it changed a few things on it, you might want to try that too. My windows media has been giving me alot of problems lately for some reason I'm getting fed up with it. As for downloading music I mostly use torrentspy and isohunt.

Xpress1,
Anuther way you could load your music onto your mp3 player is (using WinXP)Start/My Computer/Removable E is should show up something like that. Open up that and then you can drop your songs into it. As for checking how much space you would have available afterwards, if WMP isn't working for you, then i'm not sure not unless the player itself tells you somewhere how much space you have used and how much is left.
And another place to get your music is through Limewire Pro. Do a search on it and check it out if you'd like.

Just to clarify, did you get any sort of installer CD or software suite with your mp3 player? If you did, you may want to consider installing/reinstalling that..
