I Need Help!!
Just built new computer and i want to take music from tape to pc.
Have built sound card Realtek AC97 audio. Also put in radeon all-in-wonder 2006 video card. It has 2 adapters 1 with s-video and adio L & R rca jacks, also Y rca. 2md has got components adapters s-video,R&L, Y cable plugs into one plug on video card adapter. 1 is same way.
2 has blue, and green plugs also to plug into sound card. Both adapters look like a domino.
Ive tried to plug into both plugs with no luck. Tried my surround sound with monster cables. I am having to play with a karoke machine. Plugging Red,White, and Yellow cables into surround in plugging computer into surround out. No luck. also tried to download a recorder to record but the only way i can hear is to use mic to record. Sounds terrible.
Trying to build VCD of father-in-law playing guitar before he passes away. So if anyone can help THANKS.

Are you talking about a cassette tape or a video tape (VHS)?

I'm not too sure. What does your manual book say about hooking the camera up to the pc? I think all that's needed is a USB lead going from the camera to the PC and there are a number of programs such as Windows Movie Maker that let you do what you want.

Ive got the ATI all-in-wonder 2006 video card. My video camera is a JVC with 2 outs. Video card has got 2 adapters with it. 1 for components and 1 looks like regular in (Red,White,Yellow and S-Video).
Havent tried to work with it yet but will i need different software than the ATI Catalyst that came with card?
I havent got a USB cable for my video camera. Will I need to get one?
Thanks For The Help!

For video capture with your camcorder, I use the firewire port to capture my videos. You can buy this cable at any electronic store. Once you hook up your camcorder thru this cable (by the way your camcorder will also have a tiny hole where all the s-video & other jacks are, this is where the cable connects to the cam and the other end into the pc). Anyway once your cam is hooked into the pc, the windows will propmt which software to use to capture. There are so many diff softwares out there, but windows moviemaker is free on your system so you can use that to start off and go from there. Once cam is hooked up you have total control of the cam using the software including rewind/forward/play etc. All you do is rewind tape, set to capture and bingo your movie will start to get downloaded onto the hard drive (specify where you want it stored of course). Make sure you have enough hard drive room. Movies take a lot of space to store. Goodluck. There are many guides here to help with other parts.
