Now, I have seen people with 100gig hard drives on there xbox 360's. Do I have to buy a hard drive from microsoft, or is there an alternate way of doing it? Any links or info would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks, Nick

Well you can put external usb hard drives to your xbox, but they're not much worth. You can only listen to music and watch pictures from them, no video or anything else. And there's no bigger official hard drive yet.

Given this - I can stream all my audio and pictures from my PC, and videos aren't playble form the hard drive unless they were downloaded from XBL.
Why do you need a bigger HDD?

Anecdotal, by my definition, it's the way too many people here think. It's also all the evidence you have.

My advice: Wait for PS3.

They can start selling full games or even high definition movies through live. That's why. Stream music and pictures from computer? That's the stupidest thing they ever created. Why can't you just listen to music or watch pictures on your computer.

I would never buy a game just on a download. Face it - who wants to leave the hting on all night consuming all your bandwidth, just so you can damgae the HDD or have HDD failure and lose everything. I woudl buy the discs of games for that reason and for modding then back-up.
And movies are best bought on disc so you can back them up too when the DRM is cracked on HD-DVD and BD-R.
Trust me, downloadable $15 movies and $60 games is bad mfing idea for versatility to the consumer. Hell, you wnat to bring your games to a friends house? Oops, detach the whole HDD and carry it around. Let's drop it on the way or have it get banged around in the car a little. Oh wait, now that I hooked it up to my friends he can't play the gaes anyway because they are registered to my Xbox 360.
Ok, that last one is only a possibility, but you shoudl get the picture!!

Yeah, I know there are few downsides (maybe even more cons than pros). But games could hell of a lot cheaper if they were available for download. No discs, boxes or manuals, just the game.

streamin music is stupid?
yea i can listen to it on my pc, but maybe i wanna stream and listen through my stereo, there really is no point for a larger hdd right now. I even doubt they will ever have full game dls. Its pointless, and wont be done. HD movies wont be downloadable also. Basically the HDD is just for game saves, some vids u dl through market place, and if u rip your audio cds.

So? Plug your stereo to your computer. And by the way, you can't stream your music while playing, but you can play music from your hdd while playing.

DOnt' giev otu statements if you dont' know if they are true, please. I stream usic any time all the time on my 360, playing missions, playign on live. All my music is on my computer and my HDD is free of anythgin that didn;t come on it. You can stream music from your PC (WIndows XP and Media center ed) ANY time you want in game any game on or offline.

I have to agree about the downloading issue of music and movies. The irony is that you can buy a CD and have a perfect backup when you copy it to your comp, or you can buy for basically the same price (certaily not that much cheaper) online and have only the CD on your comp.
Now, I have backed up my MSN Music downloads into Audio format (wav files) onto CD's, which Microsoft allows you to do, and this does erase the DRM, but it is extremely inconenient.
They really need to look at the price comparison between buying a hard copy and soft copy and lower that soft copy. The only advantage I see to buying a soft copy is ease of use and convenience (it can be done instantly rather than going somewhere, finding it and then burning it into your collection), but the quality is lower and you have to go thru the inconvenience of burning a backup.
As for games, I would not do that again. I did buy the Halo 2 add-on's online rather than get a hardcopy, so now I have to worry about always being able to do that with a new system I get when I could have just coughed up a few bucks more and gotten the add-on's ona disc.

Exactly, they play the downloadable content as if it's good for us, but it really just puts all our investment at risk.
