Trying to burn an avi to DVD and I'm using TMPGenc to do 2-pass encoding. When the MPG files were done however and I tried to add them to my DVD in TMPGenc DVD Author, I got an error, saying something about the header.
Quote:
*The video sequence header is incorrect.

The video sequence header is incorrect.
A video sequence header is necessary for every GOP in a standard DVD.
I wasn't sure what I was doing wrong as this was my first time using TMPGenc. Thanks in advance for any tips and support.

This is a setting in TMPGEnc that has to be enabled when you are encodeing to MPEG-2 for the File to Be DVD Compliant....

In the TMPGEnc encodeing settings under the "GOP Structure" Tab were it says "Output Interval Of Sequence Header" Set that to "1" and then encode again and the Files will Be DVD Compliant...
You have to have this set this way for every file you encode to MPEG-2 for DVD.....

Also, what resolution should I encode with so it's DVD compatible? TMPGEnc DVD Author gave me an error when I just let it convert at the same resolution as the AVI file, which is 624x352.

DVD Compliant Mpeg-2 files have to be a set resolution and that resolution definately isn"t 640x352....

There are 4 Valid resolutions for DVD and which one you use depends on how much Video you want to fit on a DVD and on the Quality and Resolution of your Source Files...

Since your File is Fairly High resolution you should use the Full D1 "720x480" NTSC or "720x576 Pal Resolution for this DVD...

You can also use 704x480 NTSC or 704x576 Pal and "352x480" NTSC or 352x576 Pal and 352x240 NTSC and 352x288 Pal....

The Lower resolution standard Don"t Produce as Good of Quality but they also let you fit a LOT More Video on a DVD ,Like over 6 hours at the Lowest Resolution with better than VCD quality.....
