Hi,

My motherboard's about 4 years old now so obviously doesn't support PCI-E. I have 2 Hard drives and 2 DVD writers connected, which uses up all of the power cables, so i have none available. At Christmas i got a new Radeon 9800 pro, which needed a power cable to run!! So i took one of my DVD Writers out and used the power cable for the Grahpics card.

What i'd like to know is, can you get PSU's with 5 power cables so that i can keep my 2 dvd writers, 2 hard drives and graphics card?

Also, do the latest PCI-E Graphics cards need power cables to run too?

You can get a Y splitter depending on the PSU rating go here and fill in your details http://www.extreme.outervision.com/index.jsp as this will calc the power u need, if u need to upgrade then these will come with suffienct power cables, most PCI-E cards do require power but some dont.

Quick reply - i like it!

Right, that looks great. I take it it's the newer PCI-E graphics cards that need power cables, then?
