i'm thinking of buying a Infocus SP 5000
http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/114331/art/infocus/screenplay-500...
which says it is HD ready, but are any of the inputs able to tranfer HD signals? The inputs are as follows:
1 DVI(M1) input, 1 component (RCA) input, 1 S-Video input, 1 composite input, 1 audio stereo input, 1 D-SUB RS-232 input
Thanks

Its a service port. Its for making maufature level tweaks to your projector like gama correction among other things. Alot of new equipment use USB ports to accomplish the same things.

Rs-232:

Another important fact is that 720p, 1080i, and 1080p signals are usually copy protected requiring a digital connecion that is HDCP compatible to proccess the signals. Mostly cable boxes and the new Blu-Ray and HD-DVD formats will use some form of DRM that requires HDCP protocals. If the connections arn't HDCP complient the signal will be down-converted to 480p with analog connections and digital connection won't display anything at all.

so, the only way to disply a DRM protected HD video in HD resolution, would be to input it through the DVI connector and not the component connector. but i could display an un-protected HD video in HD resolution through the component connector. that right?
